Our Summer Internship Programme is open to applicants from all degree disciplines. Applicants must have completed at least one year of their degree at the time of application, be it post graduates, or those have successfully obtained a third level degree qualification.
All of our legal internships are four weeks in duration.
We run two internship programmes, one in June and one in July. Exact dates are confirmed closer to the time.

Yes, once you have completed at least one year of your undergraduate degree by the summer you wish to apply in you are eligible.
The number varies from year to year, but normally we recruit approx. 30 summer interns for each year. It is important for us to support the firm’s resource strategy by recruiting top calibre summer interns who we hope will eventually become part of our Trainee Solicitor Programme. We are focused on ensuring all summer interns have a positive experience with ALG whereby each intern has all the support and exposure to life as a trainee solicitor they need during their internship. Therefore, we monitor our intake numbers to ensure we can deliver a quality internship to those who have been offered an internship with the firm.

Each interviewee will be interviewed by a two person panel.
As a summer intern you can expect to experience the work of a trainee solicitor. You will work with a legal team of partners, associates and trainee solicitors. You will be given the opportunity to become fully involved in the work of the team, learning how our business works and how to interact with clients.
Yes, you get an automatic interview for a traineeship once you have completed your internship. Summer interns are interviewed for a traineeship directly after they finish their internship.
