Rossa Fanning

Rossa Fanning

Ireland's Attorney General
Rossa Fanning was first appointed as Attorney General of Ireland on 17 December 2022, and was re-appointed to that position on 9 April 2024 and again on 23 January 2025. Prior to his appointment, he was a Senior Counsel at the Irish Bar with a varied caseload spanning commercial law, judicial review, defamation and privacy law. He was called to the Irish Bar in 1999 and became a Senior Counsel in 2016. He is a CEDR Accredited Mediator and was admitted to the Bar of Northern Ireland in 2019. He was awarded BCL and LLM degrees from University College Dublin and holds an LLM from the University of Michigan.

Sarah Klein is a member of Google’s Regulatory Affairs team where she heads up their EMEA Content Defence function. Her team’s remit includes contentious regulatory engagements and investigations as well as private litigation in relation to content, consumer protection and AI. Prior to joining Google, Sarah was a partner in private practice specialising in corporate crime, financial sanctions and international risk investigations and compliance. Sarah was also a prosecutor with the UK Serious Fraud Office.

Patrick Doris is a partner in the London office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, where he specialises in technology disputes and regulatory matters. Patrick is currently involved in handling technology sector class actions and representative actions across seven countries, and in multiple regulatory investigations at UK and EU level. Leveraging a long history of practising in the compliance advisory field, a particular focus of Patrick’s work in recent years has been the design and implementation of compliance functions and risk mitigation measures for large global technology platforms for the purposes of implementation of the DSA, DMA, Online Safety Act and other related laws, and in the management of connected risk assessment and audit processes.

Niamh Hodnett is the Online Safety Commissioner at Coimisiún na Meán. She oversees the organisation’s Policy & Research Division, including responsibility for the development of the Online Safety Code. For 2025, she is the Vice-Chair of the Global Online Safety Regulators Network. Niamh has extensive experience in designing, enforcing and managing compliance with regulatory obligations at both an Irish and EU level. Her expertise spans online safety, data protection, cybersecurity, competition, consumer protection and communications regulation.
Rita Wezenbeek

Rita Wezenbeek

Director of Platforms Enforcement in the European Commission’s Department of Communications, Networks, Content and Technology (DG CNECT)
Rita Wezenbeek is Director of Platforms Policy and Enforcement in DG CONNECT. The Platforms Directorate is in charge of policies and regulations applicable to online intermediary services, including the supervision of the implementation and enforcement of the Digital Services Act and the Digital Markets Act (the latter jointly with DG COMP). These two new Regulations establish strong rules to ensure a safe, fair and open platform economy for European citizens and businesses, and give the Commission significant regulatory powers over “gatekeepers” and very large platforms and search engines.
Oliver Griffiths

Oliver Griffiths

Group Director, Online Safety, Ofcom
Oliver has been the Group Director for Online Safety at Ofcom since March 2025, overseeing the roll out and operation of the UK’s new regulatory regime making life safer online. He was previously the first Chief Executive of the Trade Remedies Authority, between 2021 and 2025, establishing the UK’s trade watchdog. He has spent most of the past 15 years in early-stage institutions, including setting up the £3.8bn Green Investment Bank, as President at a FinTech start-up developing a capacity-based trading platform and building the UK’s post-Brexit trade policy function. Oliver started his career as a corporate lawyer at Freshfields in London. He has considerable international economic experience, including as the UK’s Chief Trade Negotiator with the US during the first Trump Administration. Since 2023 Oliver has been on the Board of the Global Climate Partnership Fund, a public-private debt fund focused on renewable energy and energy efficiency in developing countries.
