COVID-19: International review of Force Majeure amid the coronavirus
Against the backdrop of the coronavirus, we have considered how force majeure is regarded around the world, and particularly where our clients conduct business. With the input of our global contacts, we were able to collated precise and up-to-date information on whether in each of the following countries, there is a legal definition of force majeure, whether this definition includes epidemics and/or pandemics, and how force majeure could be proven. Moreover, while similarities exist, each country has its own "nuance to a theme".
If you have any questions in relation to the matters raised, or if there are any other issues relating to the impact of COVID-19 which you would like to see dealt with in the future please do not hesitate to contact any member of our Corporate and M&A team.
