Energy and the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement
As of 1 January 2021, the United Kingdom (UK) is no longer part of the EU's internal energy market and the framework for energy trading between the UK and the EU is governed by Title VIII of the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement. In this article, Ross Moore, Partner, Mark Stockdale, Partner and Alan McCarthy, Partner consider some of the energy provisions of the Agreement from an Irish/Northern Irish perspective as well as some features of the Agreement in respect of energy subsidy control and dispute resolution.
