ELTIF 2.0 – CBI consultation on ELTIF chapter of AIF Rulebook
The Central Bank of Ireland (the CBI) published consultation paper 155 on a proposed new European Long Term Investment Fund (ELTIF) chapter of the CBI’s AIF Rulebook. It closes 13 December 2023.
CBI - Funds Regulatory & Supervisory update
James O’Sullivan, CBI Head of Function – Fund & Firm Authorisations, Funds Supervision Division, gave an update on CBI’s programme of thematic supervisory work, the international regulatory agenda, the current macro-economic landscape and alterative investment funds in Ireland.
CBI AIFMD Q&A update
The CBI published the 48th Edition of its AIFMD Q&A with:
- a new Q&A setting out the circumstances in which the CBI may exempt an investment limited partnership from complying with certain accounting regulations
- an updated Q&A concerning the exemption from the loan origination regime which is available to certain AIFs

ESMA sees an increase in the use of ESG-related language in the EU fund industry
ESMA published a risk analysis report on environmental, social and governance (ESG) names and claims in the EU funds industry.
ESMA call for evidence on the potential impact of shortening the standard settlement cycle
ESMA launched a call for evidence, closing 15 December 2023, on the shortening of the settlement cycle. ESMA will publish its main findings in 2024 and may provide an earlier report identifying possible regulatory actions to address the impact for EU market participants of the US move to T+1.
