On 25 September, the Regulation of the of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Regulations (EU) 2017/1129, (EU) No 596/2014 and (EU) No 600/2014 to make public capital markets in the Union more attractive for companies and to facilitate access to capital for small and medium-sized enterprises was published. The Regulation is part of the Listing Act Package, which is an overall set of measures which aims to make EU public markets more attractive and remove regulatory obstacles that hold back SMEs from accessing public markets.

MiFIR Review: ESMA announces next steps for the selection of consolidated tape providers

On 30 September 2024, ESMA announced that it will launch the selection procedure for consolidated tape providers (CTPs) in relation to bonds, shares and exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

The Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation (MiFIR) sets out the timelines to initiate and conclude the selection procedures for CTPs.
