A&L Goodbody launches dedicated EU General Data Protection Regulation site
A&L Goodbody launched a dedicated EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) site which will be a useful tool for companies in understanding the EU GDPR, and how it will affect their global operations.
The EU GDPR will apply to companies based in the EU and certain companies outside of the EU. Therefore it is essential for multinational companies to take steps to assess how the EU GDPR will affect them and the new data protection requirements and obligations which it imposes.
The easy to navigate site includes a timeline to implementation; a table outlining the top ten provisions, and a link to a comparison table of the EU GDPR texts proposed by the EU Commission, Parliament and Council. The three EU institutions have entered trilogue negotiations with the objective of reaching a compromise text by the end of 2015. Once adopted, there will be a two year transitional period before the Regulation comes into effect.
Through our EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) site we will communicate developments on the progress of the EU GDPR, and share our knowledge and insights into the challenges that it presents to businesses.
