ALG acts on Northern Ireland’s top deals in 2024
ALG has played a lead advisory role in Northern Ireland’s top deals by value this year, as revealed in the latest United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland M&A Review by Experian.
Described by Experian as this year’s standout transaction, our team in Northern Ireland advised a consortium made up of Power Assets Holdings, CK Infrastructure Holdings and CK Asset Holdings on its acquisition of Phoenix Energy – the third biggest transaction in Northern Ireland’s corporate history.
ALG also advised Kingsbridge Healthcare Group on its acquisition by Exponent Private Equity – noted by Experian to be one of Northern Ireland’s biggest ever buy-outs.
In total, ALG has acted on over 85% of the value of almost £1.3bn of deals recorded in Northern Ireland in the first three quarters of 2024, advising on 35 disclosable transactions in January to September.
David Rowan, our Head of Corporate in Northern Ireland, commented: “Having consistently ranked as the lead adviser by value of deals over the past decade, ALG continues to strengthen its reputation as the go-to corporate law firm for the largest and most complex local and international transactions. This is testament to the strength and depth of the legal expertise and experience of our 30-strong Corporate team in Northern Ireland.”
The Experian report reveals that Northern Ireland is one of just two areas in the UK and Ireland to record an upturn in deal volume this year, driven by increased corporate activity and a resurgent buy-out market.
