ALG named ‘Ireland Debt & Equity-Linked firm of the year’ by IFLR
A&L Goodbody (ALG) has been named 'Ireland Debt & Equity-Linked Firm of the year' at the annual IFLR Europe Awards 2021.
As well as winning this prestigious award, ALG was shortlisted for 'Deals of the Year' for work on the Nordic Aviation Capital DAC debt restructuring by our Aviation & Transport Finance and Restructuring & Insolvency teams.
The IFLR Europe awards celebrate the most innovative cross border transactions of 2020 and the teams and lawyers behind them. The awards showcase transactions that break new legal ground, set precedents and develop the legal environment for cross-border corporate finance.
Commenting on the award win, James Wilson, IFLR Awards Editor said: “The firm impressed across its finance practice, with innovative roles such as advising the ad hoc committee of lenders on the Nordic Aviation Capital DAC debt restructuring. The case spanned a range of disciplines and set a precedent for European creditors under Irish law schemes. One of the firm’s highlight bond deals saw it act as lead counsel to the Bank of Ireland Group on its AT1 securities issuance, which, as the first AT1 issuance by a European bank since the onset of COVID-19, employed a novel execution strategy to help de-risk the transaction and reopen the European AT1 market.”
