Two ALG partners appointed senior counsel
Vincent Power, Partner and Head of EU, Competition & Procurement Group and Liam Kennedy, a Partner in the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department, have been appointed as senior counsel. This is the first time that solicitors have been appointed as senior counsel, following a change in law. Vincent and Liam are among only 17 solicitors in Ireland to receive the accolade. These prestigious appointments acknowledge their work and expertise as they are based on proven excellence in their specialist areas of law. Both Liam and Vincent will continue as partners in ALG.
Vincent has advised on most of the leading competition, merger control, EU law, cartel, abuse of dominance, State aid, Competition Authority / CCPC and competition litigation cases in Ireland over the last 20 years. He is seen as one of the leading authorities in his fields of competition, EU and transport law and is the author of leading textbooks in those areas.
Liam's expertise involves crisis and risk management which frequently includes dealing with regulators. He acts in the management of complex regulatory investigations and disputes, managing legal, commercial and regulatory risk and to deal with crisis situations. Liam is a recent Chair of the International Bar Association's litigation committee.

The presentation ceremony for new senior counsel is expected to take place in September.
