System Operators publish Enduring Connection Policy 2.1 (ECP-2.1) 2020 Batch Results
EirGrid and ESB Networks (the System Operators) recently published the first batch results under the ECP-2 decision paper. This report outlines details of the 85 successful applicants under ECP-2.1, who are expected to receive connection offers in 2021. An initial set of ECP 2.1 results were issued by the System Operators in December 2020, however 19 applicants subsequently withdrew their ECP-2.1 applications. The System Operators have since backfilled these 19 places. The selection criteria applied by the System Operators followed the ECP-2 decision paper and subsequent ECP-2 Ruleset. A summary of the key features of the ECP-2 decision paper can be found in our previous update here. Of the 85 successful applicants, the first 25 applicants were selected based on the largest volume of renewable output, and all subsequent applicants were selected in order of planning permission grant date.
The report summarises the successful applicants as follows:
Helpfully, the System Operators have also included in the report details of the assumed node (based on the Gate 3 Nodal Assignment Rules) and reasonable estimates of the connection offer dates in respect of each project. However, these details are for guidance purposes only and are subject to review.
Full details in respect of the ECP-2.1 successful, unsuccessful and withdrawn applicants can be found in the full report.
