The Companies Act 2014: The role of the Company Secretary
The Companies Act 2014 (the Act) was signed into law in December 2014 and the bulk of the act commenced (that is, to enter into force) on 1 June 2015. This article gives an overview of the role of the company secretary under the Act, highlighting the key changes in the law. Whilst many of the provisions relating to company secretaries remain the same under the new legislation, there are some interesting new provisions which have been introduced.
