The Corporate Enforcement Authority: New corporate watchdog set to be created within months
On 3 September 2021, the Government published the long-anticipated Companies (Corporate Enforcement Authority) Bill. When enacted, it will replace the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement and reconstitute it at a new independent, statutory agency, known as the Corporate Enforcement Authority or CEA. Minister Troy has indicated that it is intended to have the CEA operational by 1 January 2022.
