Clare O'Donnell is an associate in the Restructuring and Insolvency group in Belfast. Clare has previous experience advising in a broad range of commercial and financial services related disputes, including contractual disputes, mortgage enforcement, insolvency and procurement challenges.
Since joining ALG in 2021 she now specialises in advising on contentious and non-contentious litigation specifically relating to business recovery and insolvency. She has acted for local and national banks, financial institutions and funds in respect of cases within the Commercial and Chancery Court in Northern Ireland. Clare's relevant experience includes advising:
- Cerberus in relation to a wide variety of restructuring, enforcement, debt recovery and litigation related matters arising from their purchase of various loan portfolios in Northern Ireland.
- Major retail banks including AIB (NI), National Westminster Bank plc, Bank of Ireland, Danske Bank, in relation to a wide variety of enforcement, debt recovery and litigation related matters.
- Administrators including Deloitte, and Ernst & Young in respect of administrations, and fixed charge receiverships.
- Corporate clients based outside of the Northern Irish jurisdiction, in relation to a wide variety of enforcement, debt recovery and litigation related matters.
