Career L.E.A.P

We are proud supporters of Career L.E.A.P., a work readiness training programme for young people aged 18-24 from marginalised backgrounds. It has been uniquely developed through a collaborative partnership with Business in the Community (BITC), other corporates in the IFSC, community groups and Trinity College Dublin. Through this collaboration, Career L.E.A.P. aims to help reduce youth unemployment in Dublin's North East Inner City. We are supporting the initiative by providing work experience, training to the people participating in the programme and, where possible, employment within ALG.

Business in the Community Summer Internship Programme

As part of our social mobility strategy, we support the BITC Summer Internship Programme which is funded by the North East Inner City (NEIC) initiative. The objective of the programme is to give young people aged 18+ in our local community a paid summer work placement opportunity.

Inner City Enterprises

The Inner City Enterprise Service (ICE) provides free enterprise support and information services to unemployed persons wishing to become self-employed. The service is client-centred and aims to support individuals to develop their business idea and bridge the gap from unemployment to self-employment. ALG supports ICE in the following ways:

  • providing pro bono counsel to ICE in respect of its own corporate affairs
  • providing mentoring facilities to ICE awardees through our legal expertise
  • annual funding

Social Entrepreneurs Ireland

Social Entrepreneurs Ireland (SEI) is a not-for-profit organisation that identifies, invests in and supports people with new and innovative solutions to societal problems in Ireland. At the core of SEI’s activities is the Awards Programme which identifies eight successful social entrepreneurs on an annual basis.

We support SEI in the following ways:

  • pro bono legal assistance to SEI in respect of its own corporate affairs
  • mentoring facilities to their awardees through our legal expertise
  • reviewing and judging awardee applications
  • annual funding

Our Belfast office has partnered with Aspiring Solicitors since 2022. We are committed to supporting Aspiring Solicitor’s mission to developing participants’ confidence, awareness and understanding of what is required to become a lawyer in Northern Ireland.
