Developing pro bono culture in Ireland

In-House Counsel Pro Bono Network

Given nearly one in four legal roles in Ireland are now in-house, companies boast considerable legal expertise which can be instrumental in delivering on their responsible business and environmental, social and governance strategies. Since its establishment in 2023 we have facilitated the work of the In-House Counsel Pro Bono Network. With members from large national and multinational organisations spanning the sectors of finance, tech, semi-state, hospitality, utilities, and construction, the Network works collaboratively to deploy legal responses to unmet legal need and support the work of civil society and social enterprise in Ireland.

We also work with our commercial clients supporting their responsible business goals by working with them to deliver effective pro bono interventions. Recently, we have facilitated clients in delivering legal education to a variety of communities including recently arrived international protection applicants, prisoners and budding social entrepreneurs.
