Renewable Energy

  • Developers, investors and lenders in over 4GW of onshore wind developments.
  • AIB and La Banque Postale, the lenders, in relation to the acquisition financing and project financing of a solar project of up to 250MW.
  • Iberdrola in relation to its acquisition of a majority interest in DP Energy's 3GW offshore wind portfolio pipeline.
  • Vitol Group on the acquisition of the Lumcloon and Shannonbridge projects, a 200MW portfolio of operational battery storage projects in Ireland.

  • Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan (OTTP) on the Irish aspects of its joint venture with Corio (Green Investment Group) in relation to a portfolio of offshore wind projects. The portfolio included a Phase 1 Project in Ireland, namely the proposed 400MW Sceird Rocks project.
  • Invis Energy on the development, financing and two separate portfolio sales of c. 700MW of onshore wind projects.

  • European Investment Bank (EIB) in relation to their finance contracts with the borrower (a subsidiary of Bord Na Mona) and inter-creditor matters arising in respect of EIB's participation in the financing of the 75.6MW Cloncreen windfarm.
  • Syndicate of lenders (AIB, Natixis, Banco de Sabadell, S.A., Export Development Canada and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce) in relation to the portfolio financing of 18 onshore windfarm projects with an aggregate installed capacity of in excess of 361MW.
  • The syndicate of lenders in the portfolio solar PV financing of three projects benefitting from a framework corporate PPA.
  • The syndicate of lenders in relation to the financing and subsequent refinancing of the Dublin Waste to Energy PPP Project.
  • Nephin Energy in relation to its investment a portfolio of greenfield renewable gas projects.

Interconnectors

  • The Lenders (EIB, Danske Bank A/S, BNP Paribas S.A., Dublin Branch and Barclays Ireland Bank) in relation to the development of the 700MW Celtic Interconnector Project.
  • A syndicate of Irish and international lenders (AIB, Mizuho Bank, CaixaBank, DZ Bank AG, Lloyds Bank plc, Siemens Bank GmbH, and Societe Generale) to the 500MW Greenlink Interconnector Project.
  • Foresight Group in relation to the acquisition of a significant majority stake in the MaresConnect Interconnector, a proposed 750MW electricity interconnector linking the power systems of Ireland and the UK.
  • The Lenders in relation to the €600m financing of the East-West Interconnector.
  • Barclays Bank and BNP Paribas in relation to the €300m+ financing of the 500MW East West HVDC interconnector in the Irish Sea.
  • NIE in relation to Moyle Interconnector, ALG Belfast office led the planning process involving environmental impact assessment issues regarding the development of the Moyle Interconnector.

PPP

  • DirectRoute Consortium on the €550m N17/N18 Gort to Tuam Road PPP Project, one of the largest and most complex PPP transactions in the State over recent years.
  • Successful sponsors or funders on 7 of the 10 toll road schemes developed as motorway PPP projects.
  • Transport Infrastructure Ireland on the Dublin MetroLink project, one of the largest infrastructure projects in the State, including all consenting environmental, procurement and construction matters.
  • The construction joint venture on its contract for the landmark DIT Grangegorman Campus PPP project.
  • The design and build contractor and services/facilities management contractor on a PPP project for the development and maintenance of seven new community nursing units across Ireland.
  • The sponsors on the Limerick Tunnel and Fermoy Bypass PPP projects including their subsequent disposal of their interests in those projects.
  • The lenders on the refinancing of a toll road project.

Telecoms and Broadband

  • European Investment Bank on the €170m of debt facilities provided by it to SIRO Limited as part of a wider financing of SIRO's expansion of its fibre broadband to the home infrastructure.
  • Oak Hill Advisers on its investment in Ireland’s National Broadband Plan.
  • The lenders to Imagine group for the purposes of the expansion of the groups fixed wireless broadband access infrastructure.
  • Nomura International plc and Orchard Capital in respect of $300m of facilities advanced to Aqua Comms DAC in connection with the financing of a transatlantic fibre optic cable system between Killala and New York.
  • eir on the €300m sale of its towers business to Phoenix Towers International, one of the most recent significant towers transaction in Ireland.
  • eir on the conclusion of a 49.99% investment by InfraVia European Fund V in Fibre Networks Ireland to facilitate the expansion of eir’s fibre to-the-home broadband network.
  • InfraVia on the acquisition of a portfolio of tower assets from Coillte, which assets now form part of the target portfolio.
  • The Office of Public Works in relation to the outsourcing of its telecommunications masts portfolio in Ireland.

Transport

  • Transport Infrastructure Ireland on the Dublin MetroLink project, one of the largest infrastructure projects in the State, including all consenting environmental, procurement and construction matters.
  • DirectRoute Consortium on the €550m N17/N18 Gort to Tuam Road PPP project, one of the largest and most complex PPP transactions in the State over recent years.
  • Successful sponsors or funders on seven of the 10 toll road schemes developed as motorway PPP projects.
  • A major Port on the consolidation of its port terminal activities and the outsourcing of its container services business to a private operator.

  • A consortium comprising Ryanair, Aer Lingus and Shell on its tender to design, build and operate a large fuel farm at Dublin airport.
  • A developer on a tri-partite agreement relating to the development of a large orbital ring road around the commuter town of Maynooth, County Kildare.
  • Contracting authorities on procurement and contractual aspects of development of more than 25 motorways and other strategic road projects.

Social Housing

  • An institutional house builder on major mixed use residential partnerships with Dublin City Council and with Fingal County Council.
  • An institutional house builder across its development portfolio including the forward funding by AHBs of developments totalling circa 700 units.
  • One of Ireland’s largest residential developers on the construction and funding of various social and cost rental schemes with AHBs and the LDA.
  • The mezzanine lender on a €285m financing provided to mortgage-to-rent scheme provider Home For Life.

Data Centres

  • Echelon Datacentres on the €1bn development and financing of two data centres involving the development and construction of a large scale onsite multifuel generation plant.
  • The Lenders on the €750m financing arrangements for the expansion of Vantage’s EMEA data cenrtre portfolio, including data centres in Dublin.
  • A consortium of international funders on the project-financing of the EdgeConneX data centre campus development in Dublin.
  • A leading South-East Asian property fund in its acquisition of a new data centre in Dublin.
  • Macquarie Bank in the financing of the acquisition of a global data centre in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, by an Irish corporate entity.

Climate Action

  • The development of over 5GW of Offshore Wind projects acting for Parkwind in the development of Oriel Windfarm, EDF/Fred Olsen on the development of Codling Offshore Windpark and Iberdrola/DP Energy on the development of Inis Ealga, Shelmalere and Clarus Offshore Windfarms.

Maritime Development
